Big Bummer
Lots of bummers lately - Pastor & Courtney leaving of course is the big one. Missing the PPP Party for Courtney, our group not getting to church to exercise, another big one for me plus putting on a few pounds - guess it's' my winter weight. I hope that we can spark up again and do some group sweating. I really need to and haven't been home early enough in ages to do anything. Not that it will slow down too much for a while because Madison school is getting their 1:1 passed on Monday so another 400 or so computers to get ready and manage. It's an awesome thing but a lot of work. So cheers to Courtney and good wishes and someone please tell me how the party went. It was almost 10 when I got home so I didn't come over.

It's Party Time
Well girls - we've sat still for long enough - as a group anyway. I know many of you haven't sat still a day but then there are "some" of us who have! Well sat still while still working our butts off at work or whatever.
Congrats to all those who have hit their goals and beyond or who have even made a little progress. That is soooooo awesome. I wonder if we couldn't share the times that a group member is going for a walk or whatever so others can join them. You high achievers need to pull some of us along - at least that works for me if someone gets me going.
Speaking of going - I'm thinking that since my girls are gone this week that maybe I can get my house clean. Not sure since I've got a packed week but I'm hopeful. So I was thinking of maybe having our Physette Party on this Sunday June 8 around 3 or so if that works for most of you. Let me know what you think and then we'll start planning the food.

Just Jane & Me

Well it was just Jane and me on Saturday - Jane Fonda that is. It's one of the "new" old tapes I got from a client. It's pretty good but a bit long for being so out of shape. You skinny gals will love it - ha. I know that we should be having the hot tub party on the first weekend in May but I'm not sure if that will work for me or not yet. I should know sometime this next week. I'm going to try and go to the church at 3 today if possible. Plus I'm going to try and go Mon. & Tues. nights since I'm gone the rest of the week. Come join me if you can.

Back On Track
Well maybe next week - or better yet this weekend I'll get back on track. Actually I'll be on a railway track tomorrow night going from Midway airport in Chicago to downtown Rush Street in and going to Gino's Pizza. I'm pretty sure calories measure less after you've flown but not sure. I don't even want to check the calorie intake of different liquors like Leanne even though I won't have time for much. Apple will be paying for them so I hate to count calories then. I'll try to be good but no promises. So I'll be reporting live from Chicago starting tomorrow night! Watch out for my kids in the neighborhood.

Saturday's Check-In
Friendly reminder that we'll meet Saturday morning, February 23, 9 a.m. for our workout and use it as a time of check-in... I'm working on tracking down the registration forms for the Wisner Run/Walk... hopefully we'll have them by then, to pass out and commit ourselves!

Lenten Sacrifice
Lent officially begins today! It's Ash Wednesday, February 6, 2008 (logging the date for future reference!)
Amber is giving up pop... sounds as though this could be a long 47 days in the Labenz household.
Courtney is kicking the refined sugar habit. Let's see how the Pastor's Wife bakes for church, w/o eating it all! :) Cupcakes are already in the works for Confirmation on Saturday; and there's a stash of cookies to go along with them. My only secret: Freezing it in the deep-freezer until needed! :)
Anyone else figured out what they want to try to do without? Remember, that technically Sundays are not a part of the 40 days of Lent... so if you need that one day of the week, to be weak; it's Sunday!
We'll post what you're sacrificing... exercise, is not an option; and we'll keep you on track and motivated...

Catch Us Exercising
Place comments here as to where you might be walking or exercising and you'd like others to join you. It can be at church or where ever. There will be some exercise tapes, at the church to use. I'm setting some personal goals to go to the church on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursday at 7, Saturdays at 9 and Sundays at 3. Not this Tuesday though with the church dinner. Also times can be flexible if anyone needs them to be. No promises I'll be there those times but so far I've only missed one in the last 2 weeks - yeah. Nothing too strenuous and only for 30 minutes or so. - jk

What Are Your Goals
Part of the discussion on Saturday was, "What do you want to achieve?" It was then that we realized that setting a "WINNER" would be impossible. We all have different goals. So, what are yours? By announcing it, you can A: know what you personally want to work towards, B: We can help you along the way with encouragement and checking in and C: You can determine how to measure success of the program.
So, it might be pounds, inches, sanity, toning, eating habits. You name it, it's your goal and it's RIGHT!

Recipes
Thought I'd get us started with great easy and healthy recipes!
Pumpkin Spice Mini-Muffins
One box of Spice Cake Mix
One can of Packed Pumpkin (not the pie filling)
Blend well. (DO NOT ADD ANYTHING ELSE!)
Place in mini-muffins or regular muffins. Bake according to time and temperature of cake box.
Mini-muffins are 2 points each. WAY GOOD!!!
